Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live: latest UK stock updates, and potential US delay news after tariff reversal

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live: latest UK stock updates, and potential US delay news after tariff reversal

Refresh

We’re nearing the end of the day here in the United States, and while we’ve seen preorder availability for the Nintendo Switch 2 come and go in the UK, we’re still in a bit of a holding pattern here.

Nintendo has not provided an update since indefinitely delaying the Switch 2 preorders in the US, and it seems like we might not get one for a while.

The good news is that the launch is still on track for June 5, 2025, and considering the steady stream of consoles available for preorder in the UK, that might bode well for the US.

While it’s crickets on all Switch 2 preorder fronts, I will highlight all the best Nintendo Switch deals in the US and UK. Our dedicated deals page has all the best prices around the web on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch OLED consoles, including refurbished models. So, if you can’t preorder the new Switch 2, you can grab a deal on an older console.

Current state of affairs

Right now, there are no UK retailers with preorder Switch 2 stock. I’ll continue to refresh and see if EE brings back the bundles it had earlier in the day, but there is currently no availability in the UK.

Despite the news of Trump’s tariff turnarounds in the US, we have yet to hear from Nintendo on updates on Switch 2 preorders.

Nintendo Switch 2 Donkey Kong Bananza

While EE has officially sold out of Switch 2 preorder consoles, the retailer still has a Switch 2 game available for preorder. The Nintendo Switch 2 Donkey Kong Bananza game is available for £66.99 and will be delivered on July 16. If you’ve been lucky enough to preorder a Switch 2 console, Donkey Kong Bananza is a great addition that’s exclusive to Switch 2.

Bad news…

I just swept UK retailers to see what has sold out or if any stock has become available. It looks like all the Switch 2 bundles at EE are now out of stock. I will continue to refresh to see if any of the bundles come back, and I’ll be checking other UK retailers to see if Switch 2 consoles become available again.

Save $50 on Switch OLED

While we await news on Switch 2 preorders in the US, I’d like to highlight this impressive deal on the Switch OLED. Walmart has the console on sale for only $299 (originally $349), which is a record-low price. It also beats the current offers at Amazon and Best Buy and is a great deal if you want to grab a Switch console now instead of waiting for the Switch 2.

Mack is back…

Hello again! I’m the TechRadar deals editor in the US, and I’ll be taking over Rob’s coverage of today’s Switch 2 preorder. I’ll check all UK retailers for stock and give you any updates on preorder news in the US.

As a deals editor, I will, of course, offer some deals on Switch games and accessories to help you save money.

Right, time for me to go – goodbye for now!

Another watch has ended for me, and I leave you in the excellently capable hands of Mackenzie once again.

I’ll catch you tomorrow for more Switch 2 hunting shenanigans!

I’m nearly tagging in my esteemed colleague Mack for our next run of coverage, but UK retailer ebuyer has listing pages up for the console which I’ll link to below for future reference.

SHOCK NEWS: EE has actually sold out of one of its listings *shocked face emoji*

An image of the Nintendo Switch 2

Almost unbelievably, EE has sold out of one of its Switch 2 pre-order listings! Who’d have thought it?

The console on its own has sold out meaning that there are now three listings left which are all bundles with accessories thrown in. They are a bit more expensive but still offer great options.

  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Pro controller + Samsung microSD card – £499.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + 2 pairs of Joy-Con2 controllers and Joy-Con 2 wheels – £505.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Camera – £539.99 at EE

Just joining us in the UK?

If you’re hunting for Switch 2 pre-order stock after finishing work in the UK, then, boy, we have great news for you!

EE still has four listings live, and you can readily pre-order at the brand’s storefront right now!

With only the Mario Kart World bundle sold out, EE’s options are still very good.

  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Pro controller + Samsung microSD card – £499.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + 2 pairs of Joy-Con2 controllers and Joy-Con 2 wheels – £505.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Camera – £539.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 console – £395.99 at EE

An unexpected accessory

If you’re on the hunt for the official accessories in the UK, then don’t forget you can readily pre-order the Switch 2 Camera right now too.

Hello again! And that EE stock is still live, is it?!

Hello there once more!

I have returned, and am pretty astounded that the EE Switch 2 pre-order stock is still live! Here are all those listing links again.

And with that, Rob is back again to take over! I leave you in his capable Nintendo Switch 2 stock finding hands…

This is just a heads up that EE is still holding out with that pre-order stock of the Nintendo Switch 2 on its own.

You get free deliver, with an expected arrival date of the June 5 launch day – which is a great little bonus.

Looks like the situation is changing over at EE too. The Mario Kart World bundle is no more but there are still some other options available.

I’d personally recommend the bundle that includes the camera, as it seems the best value of the lot. You’re still getting that Mario Kart World game, but also two years of Nintendo Switch Online and the camera accessory – things I think most users would need anyway.

  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Pro controller + Samsung microSD card – £499.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + 2 pairs of Joy-Con2 controllers and Joy-Con 2 wheels – £505.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Camera – £539.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 console – £395.99 at EE

The JD Williams well may have run dry

Bad news everyone, it looks like JD Williams has now sold out of its Nintendo Switch 2 stock.

I’m not seeing any options to buy the console on its website, which is now seemingly redirecting to a generic Nintendo Switch page.

Hopefully there’s more stock on the way. I’ll be keeping the website open in a tab and keep an eye on it…

Hello again gamers! Dash here to take the reigns again.

Looking around right now, it seems like EE is still your best bet for securing stock today.

While the Mario Kart World bundle is currently out of stock, there are still a few other options to choose from including an option that packs in the camera and a 24 month Nintendo Switch Online membership.

  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Pro controller + Samsung microSD card – £499.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + 2 pairs of Joy-Con2 controllers and Joy-Con 2 wheels – £505.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Camera – £539.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 console – £395.99 at EE

See you in a bit!

OK, I’m taking a break now for a short while and handing custody of our live coverage over to Dash again!

Catch you in a short while for more pre-order goodness.

The first enhanced game to get?

Epona in Zelda

Whether you played the original in 2017 or not, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition could well be the definitive version of the game and the best way to play or revisit the game.

Luckily, it’s readily available for pre-order in the UK which is excellent news.

If I get a Switch 2 then this will be the game I get first.

JD Williams was not on my Switch 2 pre-order bingo card

Who’d have thought that we’d see JD Williams ‘out stock’ the likes of Amazon UK and Currys? I did not have that on my Switch 2 pre-order bingo card…

With stock at both EE and JD Williams holding steady still, things are looking rosy anyway.

I might use this as a good opportunity to touch on some other bits and bobs worth considering a pre-order on as a result…

UK lunchtime sit rep…

So where are we at this lunchtime now that Argos has sold out? Here are all the EE and JD Williams links that are still live and available for you to use for your Switch 2 pre-order.

Where is Game?

Trafford Centre, Manchester, ENGLAND - September 2023: Game External Store Sign.

Another notable absence so far is that of Game – the UK’s only video game specialist retailer. Or, at least it once held that auspicious title, and went some way to earn it.

It’s, sadly, been on a downward trend in recent years and months so this isn’t necessarily that surprising really,

I used to love shopping at Game, if only for maximizing reward points for future purchases on things that we all know lose their value as soon as you buy them.

Anyway, there’s nothing about the consoles on Game’s Switch 2 hub page, and the below links are where the console and Mario Kart World bundle did live before the retailer pulled them.

Uh oh… Looks like Argos may be out!

Argos Switch 2 pre-order

I’m now getting the above screen when trying to click on the standalone console at Argos so it looks like that retailer is done!

And yep, this is confirmed for me with a quick refresh of this page which has both listings. Looks like we’re down to EE and JD Williams now – which is still pretty good on the options front to be honest.

And it’s got the bundle available…

JD Williams has the Mario Kart World bundle too!

Stock in at JD Williams!

I wasn’t expecting this retailer to get involved, as it’s not one I usually frequent for gaming gear or stock, but JD Williams has the Switch 2 console in stock right now!

Where are Amazon and Currys online?

Where are Amazon and Currys in all this? It’s amazing that neither of them has had stock or restocks in the past two days or so – or online at all in Currys’ case.

Surely both would know the demand that Switch 2 pre-orders would have, right?

Unless both are biding their time to be the only players in the game once everyone else has had their fun…

All of the EE listings are still available – what a time to be alive!

Howdy, hi, hello

Hello again everybody!

Did anybody manage to get a Switch 2? I say ‘manage’ – stock is holding supremely well at EE and the extra from Argos certainly would have made placing a pre-order easier today…

It looks like Rob is back, so I’m heading off. Stay tuned, as he will be scouring retailer listings to deliver the latest Nintendo Switch 2 stock update as they come in.

Although the Mario Kart World bundle has not yet returned at Argos, it looks like stock is stable on the console itself and accessories, which is some good news.

Nintendo Switch 2

We’re now seeing our first signs of stock faltering today at Argos.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle appears to be out of stock, but the console itself is still available.

Donkey Kong Bananza is live at EE

Donkey Kong Bananza

Fancy getting your hands on Donkey Kong Bananza? EE currently has the game up for pre-order, though bear in mind that it’s set to release on July 17, so a fair few weeks after the Nintendo Switch 2 console itself.

Quick stock update for you.

It looks like everything is holding well. I’m seeing no shortage of options available at both Argos and EE right now, so if you’ve been waiting for a chance to buy it’s the time to strike!

Hello gamers! Just popping in to keep an eye on the stock while Rob is AFK.

Right, I’m just going to take the dog around the block quickly but my colleague Dash will be on hand to update you with any stock changes that happen in the next few minutes.

Back in a bit!

Argos is BACK!

Argos is also back live!

It’s happening! Stock available at more than one retailer! Woo!

Nintendo Switch

As promised, here are all of those links together for your convenience!

Stock is still available for all of them but with that information that the Mario Kart bundle might sell out or go in and out of stock, I’d recommend acting quickly.

Hopefully this is a robust stock from EE though, and we’ll see it hang around…

EE has provided me with an update

I’ve just heard from EE with two key bits of information.

First, the Mario Kart bundle could be out of stock – but I have just checked and can proceed with it to the basket, so keep trying that for now!

Secondly, an EE representative has told me that “These are available on a first come first serve basis and are only available via the web site so customers will need to use the link and not the EE app or contact EE telesales.” so if you’re on the app and not being successful, then this could be why – best to head over to a desktop browser if you can!

Stock is still holding firm at EE! This is superb news.

EE has the console on its own too now!

Standalone console has appeared at EE! That makes it five listings in all which I will gather up together.

Check the app too!

A colleague of mine has confirmed the Switch 2 pre-orders are available in the EE app too!

Here are those links again too:

  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World£429.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Pro controller + Samsung microSD card – £499.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + 2 pairs of Joy-Con2 controllers and Joy-Con 2 wheels – £505.99 at EE
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Camera – £539.99 at EE

Go go go! That EE restock is huge news and might well be the best chance to snag a console today!

EE Switch 2 pre-order stock has landed!

EE Switch 2 pre-orders

It’s happening – another retailer is getting involved in the UK Switch 2 pre-order scene.

This time it’s EE, and this is an excellent place to shop for gaming. It has the Mario Kart World bundle as the standard pre-order but is also selling a couple of bundles that throw in some of the official accessories. I’ll keep posting the most up-to-date selection of links as things appear or change.

As always, it’s best to assume that stock is limited and competition will be fierce, so definitely act quickly to secure yours!

Just in time for all of us, the HMV website updated to show the listing pages for the Switch 2 console, and the Mario Kart World bundle. Sigh.

Well, at least we have some more links to save for later.

HMV all sold out

HMV Switch 2 pre-orders

And there it is! HMV has sold out of the bundle too…

I’m not convinced the retailer had that much stock as it’s not huge in the gaming space, so you may have had to be incredibly lucky!

The only way in…?

HMV Switch 2 pre-orders

I hope those links work for everyone, as I cannot for the life of me get onto the Switch 2 listing pages at HMV ‘normally’ – i.e. through visiting the website and clicking on the ‘coming soon’ Switch 2 buttons…

Here’s both of them again, just in case you fancy rolling the dice.

Console gone at HMV

HMV Switch 2 pre-orders

Well, that was quick… how many did HMV have? 8?

Bundle is still good to queue for, apparently, and that’s still ticking down for me.

HMV are live!

Perhaps one of the retailers I didn’t really expect much from, HMV is now live! Or rather, is putting people in a big ol’ queue for Switch 2 pre-orders. I’m in it now and it’s saying more than 40 minutes…

I got tipped off about this by my colleague John-Anthony who got an email about stock so check your inboxes and try the links below!

Games while we wait

Donkey Kong Bananza

I can finally post about some games that folks might want to think about pre-ordering while we wait for any console action to get started today.

(For returning readers, yes, I know that I originally said I’d talk about games ages ago.)

Perhaps the most attractive game to pre-order is the brand-new 3D Donkey Kong adventure, Donkey Kong Bananza, releasing on July 17. Luckily, it’s available to preorder, as a physical game, at a bunch of places right now.

My Nintendo Store has restocked the Pro controller , by the way.

Right, I’m just about prepped to be here all day now after getting a coffee and making sure the dog and cat are walked and fed. How about you?

If you were successful yesterday in getting a Switch 2, then congrats! Tag us in a post on X / Twitter to let us know where and what you got, and we could feature you in our live coverage!

Otherwise, get comfy and let me do the donkey work for you today as we go Switch 2 huntin’!

All quiet so far

A close up of the Nintendo Switch 2 console

A quick sweep around the UK retailers shows me that nothing is happening right now – and to be frank I would be a little surprised if stock was appearing at around 8am on a Thursday morning (UK time).

I think we’re far more likely to see stock during business hours again, as has been the case thus far.

Personally, I do still find it intriguing that two of Very’s bundle links are still accessible even though they are out of stock. Usually, the retailer doesn’t even let you see the product page for out-of-stock bundles… You can see the bundle pages I’m referring to yourself, below.

Will we see other big UK retailers get in on the action?

There are still some pretty major players in the gaming retail space to not get involved – or at least not with any ‘proper’ stock levels like we’ve seen at Argos and Very recently – that I’m personally hoping we see or hear from today.

The likes of Currys (online, at least), Amazon UK wading back in with a proper restock, ShopTo making an appearance, and the EE Store offering something solid would be exceptionally welcome.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Goooood morning!

Hello once again Switch 2 pre-order hunters! It’s Rob, |Managing Editor for TechRadar Gaming, back once again to help you hopefully secure a shiny new console ahead of the Switch 2’s launch on June 5.

What are we expecting from today?

Nothing doing, so our coverage ends here – for the time being

I’ve searched around again at the UK retailers, and found nothing is happening so I think we can safely leave it there until business hours tomorrow.

In terms of the US, we eagerly await news from Nintendo now that there’s going to be a pause on tariffs – but until we hear something, we are as we are with US (and Canadian) fans left in limbo – along with the price of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Anyway, I will catch you in a few hours – keep checking those links at the top or in our live coverage in the meantime.

Nothing happened as we’ve moved into a new day in the UK, by the way. No stock changes anywhere!

Nintendo’s UK store has run out of Pro controller stock…

Switch Pro Controller 2

In My Nintendo Store news, the Switch 2 Pro Controller is now unavailable at the official storefront for pre-order. That means a sizeable amount of folks were teaming it with Switch 2 consoles (if they got pre-order invites) or going straight to the source to buy the controller.

Luckily, it is still available to pre-order elsewhere as you can see below.

Pre-order for £74.99 at:

Argos | Very | John Lewis | The Game Collection | ShopTo | My Nintendo Store (out of stock) | Smyths Toys

Some of Very’s pages – not stock – linger on…

While most of the UK is, surely, asleep in bed with Switch 2 pre-orders likely over until well into tomorrow morning, there is, predictably, nothing happening right now.

I often keep an eye on stock situations and hardware launches at this time when one day crosses midnight into another just in case I spot any stock being released by retailers because it’s the beginning of a day, or to see if there’s anything going on at retailer’s websites that’s interesting or revealing.

While I’ll have to wait 10 or so minutes for the former, regarding the latter, there is something at Very that has caught my eye…

Earlier today when Very’s stock sold out, the pages quickly, reliably, and without fail redirected users back to the homepage – but two of the bundles from this evening are still accessible and don’t redirect yet… You can see which two it is below.

Could be nothing. Could be something.

Well hello again!

Greetings Switch 2 hunters, tis I, Rob Dwiar, Managing Editor of TechRadar Gaming once again.

I’ve just got over all the excitement we had in the UK today, but let me do a quick sweep, and tell you once again why I’m here at this particular time…

It looks like pre-order opportunities for the Switch 2 console have largely passed us by, at least for today, as there has been no movement on any of the UK storefronts listed here and no further developments in the US at this time.

And with that disappointing yet expected news: Marcus Mears III, TechRadar’s Computing Reviews and Buying Guides Editor, signing off from Texas.

Don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere! I’ll be handing it back over to our own Rob Dwiar for any further Switch 2 related updates.

“It hasn’t just exceeded my expectations – it’s blown them away”

The Nintendo Switch 2 console on a stand

If you haven’t already seen it, check out our hands-on time with the Nintendo Switch 2!

Our Hardware Editor for TechRadar Gaming, Rhys Wood, got to spend about four hours testing the new handheld, and the initials impressions were strong to say the least.

Everything from the redesign of the Joy-Con controllers to the souped up performance was a home run during our hands-on time, and with specs like a 4K 60Hz display or 1080p at 120Hz in a handheld, it’s no wonder excited Nintendo fans have been quick to snap up any and all stock today.

It looks like today’s restocks have largely grinded to a halt, but we’ll keep our ear to the ground and let you know as soon as something changes.

You can, however, still pre-order accessories like the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller or the Samsung micro SD Express Card for Nintendo Switch 2, which is a good opportunity to buy things piecemeal so your setup is ready to go once you are able to put an order in for the actual console.

Very sells out of Switch 2 stock

Very home page with 40% off sale advertisement

And it looks like Very’s last remaining Nintendo Switch 2 stock has sold out for now! Unfortunately if you’re looking to get your hands on Nintendo’s latest handheld, you’ll have to wait until retailers get more units in.

Preorder offers everywhere have, unsurprisingly, sold out extremely quickly. For now, we don’t have any specific details on when stores will have more Switch 2 systems in – but we are keeping a close eye on all of the retailers in this list to bring you updates as soon as we get them. Keep your eyes peeled, we certainly are!

Two down, one to go!

Switch 2 preorders Very

As predicted, another Switch 2 bundle sold out at Very. Right now, the only bundle available for preorder is the Switch 2 + The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom + Donkey Kong Bananza for £525.

The other two Switch 2 bundles have sold out just within the past hour, so we predict the same fate for The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong Bananza bundle. If you want to get your hands on a Switch 2 preorder today, I recommend grabbing this offer at Very while you can.

Nintendo Switch 2

In a whiplash-inducing about-face, President Donald Trump has announced that he is suspending his administration’s reciprocal tariffs, which went into effect at 12:01AM on April 9, 2025, for 90 days.

Other than China being excluded (it got a heavier tariff), the specifics here are not yet known, including the exact countries now paused. However, this could potentially allow Nintendo to offer some updates on Switch 2 preorders in the United States and Canada.

We’ve contacted Nintendo for an update on the delay in preorders for the Switch 2 in the United States and Canada. It’s not clear if this will change the current preorder situation, but it could potentially end up providing good news. You might recall that Nintendo originally delayed preorders in the United States to “assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions.”

And if you’re in the UK, Very is still your best bet to secure a Switch 2 as a few of the bundles are still in stock.

One down, two to go…

While two Switch 2 bundles are still available at Very, the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Pro controller + SanDisk microSD card for £553 is now sold out.

The good news is that the other Switch 2 bundles are still available; the bad news is that they might also sell out soon. My advice is to grab these two remaining Switch 2 bundle consoles while you can.

Switch 2 preorders

I just did a sweep of UK retailers, and as of right now, you can still find stock at Very. The retailer has Switch 2 bundles currently available, including the Nintendo Switch 2 + The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Donkey Kong Bananza for £525, the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Pro controller + Camera for £555 and the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Pro controller + SanDisk microSD card for £553.

I can add all bundles to my cart right now, and this is the only retailer with stock available. It’s been flashing in and out throughout the day, so I would secure your console now before it’s too late!

Hello!

I’m Mackenzie, the US TechRadar deals editor, and I’ll be taking over today’s live coverage of Switch 2 preorders. I’ll sweep all the UK retailers and inform you what’s available and where. I will also update you on any new preorders in the US if we get any.

As a bargain hunter, I’ll also post today’s best Switch game deals in the US and UK so you can stock up on the best games while you wait for Nintendo’s newest console.

Goodbye from me, but hello from one of my esteemed colleagues…

I’m going to take my leave now and hand over our live coverage to one of my brilliant colleagues to guide you through the next few hours.

Congrats if you scored a Switch 2 today! We’ve seen some truly chunky amounts of pre-order stock at The Game Collection for a brief time, but mainly at Very which has had stock going on and off all day – that’s the best place to look tonight in the UK if you’re just joining us.

The most important thing I can leave you with right now, however, is the three Switch 2 bundles that are up for pre-order right now at Very!

For those in the US, let’s hope we get an update from Nintendo sooner rather than later! We’ll keep you abreast of any news on the Switch 2 and tariff situation as we get it.

Good luck and I’ll speak to you soon!

Very is back again!

Very Switch 2 pre-orders

Nope, we’re back again!

What is happening here!?

Anyway, the retailer is back up with three bundles and you can get them right now!

More from Very tomorrow?

Congrats if you bagged one from Very today! The fact that stock kept coming back and being available was very encouraging.

Given it has had stock during ‘business hours’ recently, there’s absolutely no harm in checking back in with the retailer tomorrow throughout the day…

Yup, that hub page has changed layout now, and everything with a console, bundle or not, has been removed…

Looks like that really – and I mean, really, this time – is it at Very.

Very might actually be done now…

Uh oh! I’ve just hit refresh on all my Very links and almost all of them are now taking me to the homepage…

That’s probably the clearest sign you could get that the retailer may be bang out of stock now.

Even clicking on the listings on the hub page here takes me to the homepage…

Going Pro

If you got your hands on one of the smaller bundles at Very or The Game Collection earlier today, but are interested in the Switch 2 Pro Controller by itself, then the great news is that the pad is widely available for pre-order on its own.

Multiple retailers have pre-order stock so you can pretty much shop where you prefer for this accessory

This is getting silly now…

An image of the Nintendo Switch 2

Seriously, what is going on with Very’s stock? This is an absolute rollercoaster with bundles coming in and out of stock incredibly quickly; it’s just so volatile.

The below three bundles are now back in stock!

This is the link to get an overview of all Switch 2 pre-order bundles and products at Very by the way.

We’re back down to two bundles…

It looks like we’re back down to two bundles at Very, but this isn’t our first rodeo today with Very stock, is it?

I’ve linked those two that I can see in stock below, but it’s almost certainly worth trying and refreshing the other ones if you’re interested in them.

Hello again!

Howdy everyone, Rob here. I have returned to guide you through the next few hours or so of Switch 2 pre-order news and the latest on stock.

Thanks, Dash, for holding the fort during that wild Very stock situation! I’m going to begin by checking that retailer out again and giving you the latest.

Looks like Rob is back and will be hopping on again to keep you up to date with the latest news. I’m sure I’ll see you all again soon!

Stock seems to be coming and going. It looks like the status of bundles at Very is changing fast. If you’re seeing an item as out of stock, we’d recommend refreshing the page a few times just to be sure!

Very is BACK!

Big news!

It looks like Very has just restocked every single bundle. That’s right, every. Single. Bundle.

If you’re hoping to lock down your Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order today, then this is going to be a fantastic opportunity to do so.

I’m not seeing any more stock after that brief burst at Very, but of course that could change at any moment. Stay tuned for updates…

The Very bundles are no more

Very Switch 2 pre-orders

Bad news if you were hoping to grab one of those last remaining bundles over at Very. It looks like stock has now completely depleted…

I’ll keep an eye on the relevant pages and let you know ASAP if any more become available.

Don’t forget to grab a case!

If you intend to take your Nintendo Switch 2 out and about, then you’re absolutely going to need a carry case to prevent it from picking up bumps and nicks. There’s nothing worse than accidentally damaging your shiny new console, so anything you can do to prevent that is a good investment.

Right now I’d recommend just picking the official option from Nintendo, which is up for pre-order alongside the console and is set to release on launch day. The cheapest place to pre-order it is at Very, where it costs just £20.99. Other retailers have it too, but prices vary between £24 and £30.

The case also comes bundled with a screen protector, to ensure that all your protection needs are met.

I’ve had a quick browse of all the major retailers and it looks like Very is still your best bet. I’m not seeing any other options available right now other than those couple of bundles…

What do you think?

How has the search for Nintendo Switch 2 stock been treating you?

Just like yesterday, you can tag us in a post with your thoughts on X / Twitter for a chance to be featured in our live coverage!

Hey everyone!

Dash signing on here to give you a rundown of the current stock situation.

The stock situation seems extremely volatile at Very. Right now I’m only seeing three bundles up for grabs, with the others and the console on its own already sold out.

These could be a decent choice if you were already eyeing up the included accessories, but beware that they might sell out fast.

You can see those three options below:

Right, I’m off to take a break for a bit and my colleague Dash is jumping in to steer the ship.

I’ll catch you in a little bit!

Ah, that John Lewis listing has now gone back to showing as totally sold out and no more pre-orders available.

Still, that absolutely shows the potential benefit of camping on retailer pages and regularly checking as flashes of stock can appear again with no warning.

I saw this during the Great PS5 and Xbox Series X Shortage of 2020 and 2021 so it’s no surprise to see it happening again.

John Lewis might be one to check…

I’ve just checked all the retailers again and John Lewis’ listing page for the standalone console has changed from saying pre-orders are sold out to now not displaying that message and seemingly having its pre-order button live again…

Definitely worth a go!

Very going wild

An image of the Nintendo Switch 2

With the way Very is going, who needs other retailers?!

Those aforementioned five bundles are still in stock and up for pre-order right now and while they add some extra cost for your Switch 2 pre-order over the standalone console and Mario Kart World bundle, these are some attractive offers with official accessories from Very.

Two have gone again…

Very Switch 2 pre-orders

One of the Pro Controller bundles has gone already and so has one of the existing bundles we saw earlier, so there are currently, as I type, five remaining bundles still available to pre-order at Very.

I’d say that this might be it, but we’ve literally just seen that movie so I’m not saying anything about any stock being sold out…

For what it’s worth, I haven’t seen any stock of the standalone console or ‘plain’ Mario Kart World bundle today at Very but those listing pages are still there too.

Two new bundles available at Very

Very Switch 2 pre-orders

Along with the existing ones returning, two new bundles have now appeared at Very for pre-order! What a time to be alive!

These two bundles are detailed but will get you that sweet-looking Switch 2 Pro controller thrown in.

Wait a minute – all of Very’s bundles are back!

This is wild if listing are to-ing and fro-ing but for me, ALL the bundles have returned and can be pre-ordered right now!

Another bundle returns!

Another one is back from the dead! The SanDisk microSD bundle is back now too!

No it isn’t!

Two bundles have come back into stock as soon as I said the retailer was done!

The one left is the chunky accessory-laden one which would be a heck of a way to start life out with a Switch 2, and the Samsung SD card one.

Stock must be teetering on the edge though, so act quickly if you can!

Very is SOLD OUT

That’s it, Very has sold out of all its bundles for the time being!

Here are all the links from today’s bundles to keep checking, but that could be it for today… we never know!

All of today’s bundle listing pages are still up at Very

Very Switch 2 pre-orders

The bundles that have sold out at Very, as well as the ‘main’ two Switch 2 pre-order listings, haven’t disappeared or been taken down by the retailer yet, by the way.

This did happen yesterday at Very when the stock had sold out. I’m not saying we can read too much into this, but while those listings are up on this page, I’d keep all of them to hand and give them an occasional refresh for sure.

Or just plump for one of the two remaining bundles, of course!

And then there were two…

Very Switch 2 pre-orders

We’re now down to just two available Switch 2 pre-order bundles available at Very! The SanDisk microSD Express Card bundle has sold out so options are running out fast now!

It’s all quiet on the Switchy front right now with Very continuing to hold stock of those three bundles, while everywhere else remains out of stock.

Very’s stock is continuing to hold…

Those three remaining bundles are still holding out and are available folks so I’d recommend seriously considering them if you are wanting to secure a Switch 2 pre-order and have the necessary budget!

Another Very bundle bites the dust…

Another Very bundle has gone out of stock so we’re down to three options now:

No other retailers yet

The answer to that is a resounding no, by the way – no other retailers getting in on the action yet, but I’ve got all the relevant pages open and I’m wearing down my F5 key.

Any other retailers want in on the action?

Right, anyone else joining the party, retailers? Argos? Amazon?

One bundle falls away at Very – but the others are holding!

Very Switch 2 pre-orders

Only one of Very’;s bundles has gone out of stock, so this looks like a really healthy bundle-based restock. Here are the links to the remaining one with the Donkey Kong Bananza bundle the one to fall by the wayside.

All gone at The Game Collection

The Game Collection Switch 2 pre-orders

Yup, there it is, The Game Collection has sold out by the looks of it. I’ve included the links once again below just in case, as it’s always worth refreshing and checking after a restock to see if any cancellations (or similar) occur.

Let me check next on Very again…

Bundle gone from The Game Collection?

The Game Collection Switch 2 pre-orders

While I was in a queue on tabs for each of the individual listings, I also had The Game Collection’s Switch 2 homepage open and this is what it curreently states – the bundle has sold out but the standalone console is still there. Hopefully that remains the case for a bit longer.

The queue at The Game Collection is still in force

The Game Collection Switch 2 pre-orders

That queue at The Game Collection doesn’t necessarily mean things are terminal, just that the website is creaking a bit under the weight of immense traffic and interest, I’d wager.

If you’re just joining us, then these are the links to use to try your luck with that queue:

The lowest-cost Very bundle is this one

Very Switch 2 pre-orders

This is the cheapest and ppotentially best value Switch 2 pre-order bundle to go for now by the way – especially if your main goal is to just keep the initial spend down.

It’s queue time…

There’s now a queue in force at The Game Collection by the way…

This isn’t new or terrible by any means, but does show that competition is hot! Here are those links again:

The Game Collection stock is still holding

That’s two UK retailers live right now! Amazing scenes, especially so as that Switch 2 pre-order stock at The Game Collection is still holding out!

The other Very bundles

Here are the other Very bundles that are available right now too – they’re a bit dear, but they’ve wrapped up a lot of the best-looking Switch 2 accessories in them so these could be real tempters!

Very is live!

This is not a drill! We have another retailer offering Switch 2 stock right now!

Very has resuscitated some of its bundles from yesterday and added new ones to the mix too. Here’s the first batch that I’ve got links for right now!

Very’s listing pages have returned too…

I saw a fleeting mention on social media that Very had stock, but I can’t see it – however, the listing pages for both the bundle and standalone console are back so this is one to keep refreshing right now too!

The Game Collection is live!

The Game Collection Switch 2 pre-orders

I’ll get to the games in a moment as there’s more pressing information at hand: The Game Collection is live with pre-order stock right now!

The stock is likely to be extremely limited so act quick!

Games, games, games

I’ll be doing some highlighting of Switch 2 game pre-orders soon in both our master list and as updates here when I see the best deals, by the way. You can’t pre-order them in the US yet (again, sadly), but there are plenty of US links to bookmark.

Availability in the UK however is pretty good – stand by for more on those shortly!

Could we hear from Nintendo today now that US tariffs are in place?

For any US early birds, or interested folks elsewhere, today is the day that US tariffs are implemented.

As a result, could we see some sort of update from Nintendo regarding the price or availability of pre-orders for North America? We’ll bring it straight to you here if so.

Get the official protection

As some of my colleagues have mentioned elsewhere and from what I’ve seen online, making sure your pricey new console is protected is going to be very important – unless you like to live dangerously.

The official Carrying Case & Screen Protector is something I’ve highlighted before but I just can’t recommend it highly enough if you are anything like me and want to make sure your shiny new tech is protected from the get-go.

Don’t forget the accessories are widely available

While I keep abreast of all the retailers and their console pre-order stock to reappear (hopefully), I’m filling out our accessory section at the top of this page, as well as highlighting them in posts occasionally – like now.

Right now, in essence, you can place pre-orders for almost all of the Switch 2 accessories – and certainly, all of them if you received an invite from Nintendo. The latter applies to things like the new Charging Grip too which is an excellent accessory to transform your new Joy-Con 2 controllers and charge them simultaneously.

Currys in-store only?

In terms of in-person or click-and-collect pre-orders, Smyths Toys are sold out of the Switch 2 now in such a way – the retailer’s stock did hang around a fair while, even though you were subject to the postcode lottery and having a store nearby.

That means that going into a Currys store in person may be the best – and only – way to place a Switch 2 pre-order in the UK right now. You can search for your nearest store below and also sign up for the latest news with the retailer with the second link below I’ve posted.

Sit rep

OK, so, here’s a brief, and somewhat predictable, sit rep update: UK Switch 2 pre-orders are sold out everywhere.

I’m still hopeful we’ll see some actual stock today – though is a hopeful hunch at best – but the main thing is to keep trying at retailers. We know from previous stock shortages that canceled pre-orders or extra tiny bits of inventory can bring flashes of stock so it’s always worth refreshing and camping whenever you have the chance.

Good morning!

Good morning Switch 2 hunters! We go again!

Let’s have a quick look around and see if anything has changed overnight in the UK, and talk about what we might see today…

Goodbye for now

Yup, it looks like there’s going to be no change or intended stock drops or refills just because we’ve moved into April 9 in the UK now, so I’m going to end my live coverage there for now.

I’ll be back again in the morning to see what the situation is both in the US regarding any tariff news, and in the UK in case any retailers are gearing up to go live during business hours.

Good luck to anyone still searching, and I’ll be back in a few hours!

Looks like my hope was misplaced…

The Nintendo Switch 2 consoel boxes on a stand

Having done a big sweep of UK retailers, turns out my hope or optimism may have been totally misplaced – at least for now anyway.

There’s no change across the board with only accessories and games available at some retailers to pre-order – nonetheless, we live in hope and maybe UK business hours will bring some good news and availability.

I’ll stick around for a little longer now though, just in case…

We’re about to hit midnight in the UK on April 9. Not a huge deal but with US retailers originally set to go live on this date, I can’t help but feel like something might happen with UK stock on this date too…

Not long to find out either way, so let’s keep our fingers crossed!

I’m back!

Rob here, taking you through the next short period just in case anything exciting happens over midnight into April 9 UK time.

Huge thanks to Jacob and Mackenzie for keeping this ship sailing while I took a break.

Let’s start having a snoop around!

The day is winding down in the US, so Mackenzie and Jacob are saying bye for now, but fear not, as TechRadar Gaming’s Managing Editor, Rob Dwiar, is coming back to keep our live coverage afloat.

All in the quest to help you in the UK find a Nintendo Switch 2.

Mackenzie is back, and while I wish I had some good news (or new news) about Switch 2 pre-orders, unfortunately, they are still not available in the UK.

To try and lift your spirits, you can visit our Nintendo Switch game deals page to see all the best deals on Switch games in the US and UK around the web.

See today’s best Nintendo Switch game deals

While the Switch 2 console itself is sold out, nearly all of these retailers’ supply of games – including exclusive to Switch 2 Editions – and accessories are holding strong.

For instance, Argos has the Nintendo branded microSD Express Cards alongside the Switch 2 Pro Wireless Controller all up for order. Meanwhile The Game Collection has Mario Kart World for £74.95 and Donkey Kong Bananza for £66.95.

Again, we’re seeing that trend of varying prices for the Switch 2 titles.

I just did another scan of all the UK retailers that we saw or expected Switch 2 preorders at, and – similar to our last check – all of them are currently sold out or not yet taking preorders again. The exception here would be the My Nintendo Store, as it’s possible the gaming giant is still sending invites out. So, if you requested one, it’s wise to keep an eye on your email inbox, just in case.

As of this posting, Argos, which had been steadily offering preorders for a good few hours earlier, is still sold out, and when you click on a Switch 2 console, that is quickly made known.

TechRadar is still monitoring the pages to see if more stick appears or is made available.

Jacob Krol, TechRadar’s US Managing Editor News, here. I, for one, am curious if Nintendo will share anything more about the preorder delay for both the United States and, as of this morning, Canada. We’re just hours away from when preorders were supposed to kick off.

We all know that Nintendo has said the console will still officially launch on June 5, 2025, but there is a lot unknown aside from that. Preorders should have been kicking off tomorrow at $449.99 (starting), but that date and potentially the price are up in the air.

Hopefully, Nintendo will recognize this and provide some clarification.

Nintendo Switch OLED deals

As we wait (hopefully not for long) for Switch 2 stock to become available again in the UK, let’s spotlight a deal on an older model console. The Nintendo Switch OLED is still one of the best handheld game consoles, thanks to its large 7-inch OLED display, enhanced speakers, and impressive storage.

Today’s deal from Amazon UK has the Switch OLED on sale for £249, which is a record-low price and £146.99 less than the Switch 2.

While we wait for Switch 2 pre-order news in the US, I’d like to highlight an offer from Best Buy. The retailer has a promotion that gives you a $20 bonus reward with every $150 spent on select Nintendo games as a Best Buy Plus or Total member. This is a great deal if you want to stock up on new games ahead of the Switch 2 arrival.

Mackenzie Frazier enters the chat…

Hello, Switch 2 hunters. I’m TechRadar’s US deals editor and I’ll be covering today’s Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live. I’ll continue to check UK retailers and update you with any news in the US.

When we last checked, Argos seemed to be the only UK retailer with Switch 2 stock availability, but I just checked, and it looks like the retailer has now sold out. We’ll continue to check back to see if that changes.

Argos Switch 2 pre-orders

My watch has ended…

After yet more hours of covering the Switch 2 pre-order and stock situation, I must take a break now.

Some of my excellent colleagues will take our coverage on now, but I may well talk to you again in a few hours!

Bye for now!

UK stock situation

OK so the UK stock situation seems largely ass I described it earlier with Argos still offering the standalone console – but that is it right now.

Very has sold out of all its bundles, and there’s no stock at other retailers apart from click-and-collect orders to a few Smyths Toys stores, and – as far as I know still – in-store pre-orders at Currys.

My shift is nearly over here, but I’ll be handing over to some of my esteemed US colleagues to take you through the rest of the day.

I might even return for midnight UK time too, to see if any other retailers go live on April 9!

However, for now, I’ll just check the retailers in the UK one more time.

A bit of Switch 2 game news…

Hades 2

In other news, it’s been confirmed that Hades 2 will be an OG Switch and Switch 2 exclusive when it launches which is pretty mega news and a great ‘get’ for the sequel.

It’ll come to other platforms after (unspecified) but Switch 2 players can look forward to playing that first when it comes out.

About that Canadian pre-order news…

We’ve got more on that delay to Canadian Switch 2 pre-orders here now, by the way. Worth a look if you’re in North America and wondering what the wider situation is going to mean for you – maybe, potentially, etc.

What’s the UK situation right now?

With Amazon UK coming and going, and as we near the end of the work day on that side of the Atlantic, let’s have a quick look at where we are.

As I write this, Argos still has stock of the standalone console to purchase, but not the bundle.

Very has now run out of all its bundles and stock, joining Amazon and other retailers.

Smyths Toys are still taking click-and-collect pre-orders but the number of locations is dwindling rapidly. I believe Currys are still taking in-store pre-orders however.

Overall, though, stock is running low in the UK no matter where you look.

Annnnnddddd Amazon UK’s stock has gone…

Well, that was short-lived, wasn’t it? Sadly Amazon UK’s stock of both the bundle and standalone console has gone back to ‘currently unavailable’.

Shoppers must have been very quick indeed.

Taking it retro!

If you’re a Nintendo fan of a, well, certain age, you might have incredibly fond memories of the GameCube console from the early 00s. And Nintendo knows that there are people like this too, making the beautiful-looking GameCube controller that you can see below.

It’s up for pre-order right now at My Nintendo Store if you received an invite email.

Some news about North America Switch 2 pre-orders

A Nintendo Switch 2 console on a Zelda background

In a brief bit of North American Switch 2 pre-order news, Canadian Switch 2 pre-orders will be delayed “in order to align with the timing of pre-orders to be determined in the U.S.” mobilesyrup has reported after receiving comment from Nintendo of Canada.

That’s an interesting development – maybe in part due to folks being able to use Canadian addresses and nip back to the US over the border? Or to essentially ensure they are in charge of the Switch 2 pre-orders and stock that enters the US.

We’ll keep an eye on this one and report more as we get it.

The bundle is the one to go for if you’re looking for a Switch 2 pre-order in the UK right now – we think they will not last and there won’t be as many sold.

The value the bundle offers compared to the console on its own is stupendous so go for that one immediately if you’re ready to strike!

Amazon UK has the bundle!

And now the bundle is up for pre-order at Amazon UK – it’s here!

You might have to look in the buying options section, but it’s here right now!

Amazon UK is live – finally!

Amazon is live! I repeat: Amazon UK is live!

It might just be the console on its own unfortunately – we think the bundle sold out immediately – but this is great for overall stock options.

Or go big or go home…

However, if you’re lining up a bigger approach to protection and travel ease with your Switch 2 then you can go for the official All-in-one travel case over at the My Nintendo Store.

Don’t forget about protection!

If I were buying a Nintendo Switch 2 – I won’t be able to use the console unfortunately, I already know this due to my weird hands – then a carry case and screen protector would be the first accessory I would buy.

I did the same for my PlayStation Portal and every phone I ever owned and luckily Nintendo has an official solution for you that you can pre-order now.

Very is back with non-bundle pre-orders!

A screenshot of Very's Switch 2 pre-order page.

Amazingly, Very has returned with live pre-order stock of the standalone console! Act now before you miss out!

Game looks to have removed its console pages entirely…

A screenshot of Game's Switch 2 pre-order page.

Once a stalwart and giant of the video game hardware and software pre-order space, Game is not quite what it used to be as an option nowadays, sadly.

After some stock that folks had success with overnight/this morning (UK time), I checked the listings there regularly, and while I could regularly add it to my bag, once in there the items had errors next to them. This happened repeatedly, and now Game has just removed the listing pages entirely, for some reason.

Maybe an indication of there being zero stock incoming, such that it doesn’t even warrant a listing page…

And ShopTo?

A screenshot of ShopTo's Switch 2 pre-order page.

Another retailer we haven’t heard a peep from is ShopTo.

It was one of the earliest retailers to take registrations of interest but I’ve not seen much in the way of actual stock since the Direct 2 wrapped up last week. Maybe some folks have had luck, but right now it simply says that it is “Sold out”.

Again in the face of that Argos stock which is just not going away – links below again – it’s somewhat baffling as to where other retailers’ stock is and how they’re playing this.

And what about Currys?

Currys is another big UK retailer I was hoping to see some action from today but the retailer is all quiet online so far.

And I say ‘online’ on purpose as the retailer is taking pre-orders in-store, so if you have a local bricks-and-mortar Currys near to you then heading over in person could be just the ticket to secure your pre-order.

Where is Amazon’s pre-order stock?

A screenshot of Amazon's Switch 2 pre-order page.

For all the great news about those retailers that have had stock – notably Argos and Very right now – I am surprised we haven’t seen anything from the other big sellers.

Amazon UK is the biggest absence right now on this side of the Atlantic. Despite that notification that folks got yesterday about being unlucky with their registration for an invitation and that stock would “soon” be available without such a process, the listing page at Amazon has been deathly still today.

It’s been hard to predict Amazon UK’s stock on in-demand gaming hardware in recent months, so at least the retailer is being consistent…

An update from The Game Collection

The Game Collection had some stock of the Switch 2 previously, but I haven’t been able to find any new information up until right this moment.

The website now confirms that the retailer’s initial Switch 2 allocation sold “extremely quickly”, but also has a dedicated signup form for a mailing list for Switch 2 updates that I hadn’t spotted before.

If you prefer to shop there, then that’s the way to do it right now.

Very stock is holding but only on a couple of bundles..

On top of Argos being the best place to pre-order the Switch 2 on its own (or with Mario Kart World) right now, Very is still offering chunky Switch 2 bundles for pre-order.

It seems like a few of them have fallen away and gone out of stock, but the below two are still pre-order-able!

Naturally, these are the two most expensive ones as shoppers look to take advantage of the bundles offered but keeping the overall cost down, targeting those cheaper bundles.

Still the bundles with the camera and Switch 2 Pro controller looks tasty from a hardware perspective and quite exciting as a result.

Hello again!

Rob, managing editor of TechRadar Gaming here once again to guide you through the afternoon’s Switch 2 pre-order latest and news.

I’m mid-retailer-sweep right now but it looks like that belting pre-order stock at Argos is still running, so that’s where I’d start if you’re just joining us.

And with that, it’s time for me to get some lunch of my own!

I’ll be passing things back to Rob in a moment, who still has lots more to share about all things Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders.

It looks like pre-orders for the Mario Kart World bundle at John Lewis have now sold out and, judging by the wording on the site, there won’t be any more stock before launch day.

Right now if you had to the John Lewis Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle page, it says that “pre-orders are now sold out” and that the system will be “available to buy” from the June 5 launch day.

The retailer does still have the base Nintendo Switch 2 package up for grabs though, so be sure to check that out below.

I’ve just had a quick look at all the big retailers in the UK. Stock at Very seems to be coming and going at a rapid pace, but Argos is still holding strong.

This is also the retailer where readers seem to be having the most success, so is definitely the one to check first!

This adorable Switch 2 camera is up for pre-order too

Hori Switch 2 camera.

This adorable Nintendo Switch 2 camera from Hori is officially licensed and comes in a bit cheaper than the standard Nintendo model. It also has, in my eyes, a way cooler design that is based on the Piranha Plant enemies in the Super Mario series.

It’s not all for looks either, as the plant’s lips can be closed in order to double as a surprisingly practical webcam cover.

It’s available to pre-order now at most retailers where the Nintendo Switch 2 is available and could be a great thing to add to your basket when you take the plunge on the console itself.

Readers share their wins

Earlier, we asked whether you had spotted any Nintendo Switch 2 stock or managed to get your hands on one.

Here’s what some of you had to say:

Thanks! That’s always great to hear.

Another happy soon-to-be Nintendo Switch 2 owner.

It looks like a lot of people are finding success over at Argos right now, so head there first if you’re struggling.

Another Argos success story. Definitely worth factoring in that delivery cost, though!

Very is also a reliable retailer when it comes to console pre-orders, so do check stock there regularly.

Have something of your own to share? Tag us in a post on X / Twitter for a chance to be featured in our live coverage!

Hello gamers!

Hardware Writer Dashiell Wood here to keep you up to date with the latest stock information while Rob grabs a cheeky lunchtime snack.

As Rob said before he left, stock seems to be holding right now. I’ll let you know right away if that changes.

Time for a break for me

Right, I’m off for a bit of a break now, and my esteemed colleague Dash will be taking over for a bit over UK lunchtime.

Stock seems to be holding though, so fingers crossed you bag one if you’re looking during your lunch break.

See you shortly, and over to you, Dash.

If you want to get ahead of the game on the controller front then you can do that too by the way with a range of retailers offering Joy-Con 2 pre-orders right now.

Even though we know the controllers don’t have Hall effect sticks, Rhys liked the new iteration when he went hands-on with them, and having more controllers around is never a bad idea.

That Argos pre-order stock is still available by the way…

NVIDIA y Nintendo Switch

I’m reposting this because I had just assumed that stock was going to sell out and go in and out of stock at retailers all day but in superb news, you can still place a Switch 2 pre-order at Argos with the links below!

Grab the camera

You can pickup the Switch 2 Camera at a host of retailers right now too so if you want to fill out the accessory line and your setup in preparation for the console, then these are the best places to pick that up from.

The other Very bundles…

And here’s a look at the other Very bundles the retailer has in stock. Some great options here, though they are at pretty punchy prices…

Scratch that – Very *is* live!

A screenshot of Very Switch 2 pre-orders

Egg and my face are in alignment – Very is live!

However, with one caveat – it’s live with its own bundles that are a bit dearer given the inclusion of some accessories. See two of the bundles below, and I’ll post the others immediately after this.

Stock at Very?

Retailer Very reportedly had stock a little bit ago, but I couldn’t replicate the success that other folks have had such as the below Nintendo fan.

While 11am is now 30 minutes ago, Very is definitely worth a camp on throughout today to keep refreshing.

EE stock?

There were murmurings and fleeting reports that EE had stock of the Switch 2 up for grabs – but on its phone store site rather than its retail site…

Might be one to check out, particularly if you’re an EE customer, nonetheless…

Away from the console itself, the brilliant-looking Switch 2 Pro Controller is widely available for pre-order in the UK, and you can find all the best links for it below.

Argos is still available…

That Argos stock is still holding strong so could be one of the very best means to place a Switch 2 pre-order we’ll see this week. Hurry before it runs out again!

We expect the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller to be one of the most sought-after Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, which is why now could be the perfect time to consider securing one.

Our Hardware Editor Rhys Wood has already tried the controller in the flesh, and came away very impressed. It’s reportedly seriously comfortable, with delightfully smooth thumbsticks.

Stock seems plentiful here in the UK right now, but of course that might change so see the best places to pre-order one below.

Don’t forget the games

Now would also be a good time to start thinking about the games that you will want to play on your shiny new Nintendo Switch 2.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion was one of the most interesting looking games showed at the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct and could be a must-play for all fans of sci-fi robots and fast-paced action.

Right now a limited edition version of the game is up for pre-order at Amazon and it comes packed with bonus goodies. On top of a Nintendo Switch 2 copy, you get a soundtrack CD, art book, set of three keychains, three emblem patches, and an acrylic standee.

Build your Switch 2 setup – but without the console…

The good news for UK shoppers is that more and more Switch 2 accessories and games are coming up for pre-order properly as of this week and today.

We’ve spotted the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera up at Amazon UK already so that’s a great place to start building your setup around an upcoming Switch 2 pre-order.

All quiet on the Switch 2 front elsewhere…

I’ve just done a quick sweep of all the other major retailers for Switch 2 pre-order stock and it’s all a bit quiet, sadly.

I’m still somewhat hopeful that another retailer or two will try and match Nintendo so I have my fingers crossed!

For now, though, let’s see what else is cracking in the word of Switch 2 pre-orders and news!

Good morning!

Good morning Switch 2 gamers!

UK Switch 2 pre-order day is here and there looks to be action at My Nintendo Store! The listing for the Mario Kart World bundle is up and you can click on it with the intent to buy it – howeve,r the site will then ask for your email address that you received an invite from… Good luck!

Until tomorrow…

There really has been no movement on UK Switch 2 pre-orders tonight so I’m going to end our live coverage there and pick it up again in the morning.

Hopefully we’ll see some movement during the day tomorrow in the UK, and maybe even see some folks be successful with My Nintendo Store pre-orders.

Until then, however, it’s good bye from me!

This is all turning out to be quite disappointing so far, by the looks of it.

I’ve been through all the major retailers, several times, and to no avail. I’ll probably stick around for a bit longer but if you’re in the UK and like me, hoping for some midnight magic, then it may look like you can call it there and try again in a few hours…

Nothing seems to have changed

I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised but my searches of UK retailers have brought nothing which is a huge shame…

As it stands, it looks like placing a Switch 2 pre-order in-store at Currys is still your best bet away from Nintendo invites – but not now obviously as I’m certain Currys aren’t open at this hour.

Sadly, nothing yet… Nada… Zip…

The clock has ticked over to midnight on April 8 in the UK!

I’ll be checking all the major retailers rapidly just in case there’s a flurry of activity in line with Nintendo’s own pre-order date.

Keep checking those links at the top of the page – you never know!

About Game’s listings…

I will say that sadly Game’s listings look to be a little misleading right now. You can still add a Switch 2 pre-order to your bag, even with a warning of a the release date not coming for a while, but when you look in your bag, you’re greeted by the above screen. Sigh.

That was probably short-lived then, but I hope some folks got a unit from there!

Hello again!

Thanks, Jacob!

Rob, Managing Editor of TechRadar Gaming here, taking over live coverage again as we race toward midnight on April 8.

What could we see: a flurry of non-Nintendo retailer action? My Nintendo Store sending out huge waves of emails immediately? Well, I’m not sure, but with that Amazon email I received earlier stating that non-invitation stock would be live ‘soon’, I’m prepared for anything.

And just like that, I am ready to hand this live blog back to Rob Dwiar, TechRadar Gaming’s Managing Editor, as we approach the April 8, 2025, My Nintendo Store preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Stick with us as we continue tracking the UK preorders for the much-anticipated Switch 2. And remember, it’s worth checking the retailer links above.

Here’s some good news – as of right now, I can add both the standard Nintendo Switch 2 and the Nintendo Switch 2 with Mario Kart World bundle to my basket on Game. You’ll want to act fast, though, since we’ve seen other retailers like John Lewis quickly go from being available to being sold out.

We’re now less than two hours away from when we’re expecting the My Nintendo Store in the UK to start sending out invites to lucky Switch owners, giving them the chance to preorder the Switch 2. As someone in the United States, the jealousy levels are very high.

While Nintendo has not confirmed a time or detailed the exact process yet, we do know that preorders from the gaming giant will kick off on April 8, 2024 – which is now two hours away in the UK – and will be done via an invite process.

So, it’s best to check your email and see if you get in the lucky wave. We can’t give you an exact time when it will arrive.

While Amazon in the UK has been letting interested folks ‘request an invitation’ to purchase the Nintendo Switch 2, the retailer will no longer require that after seemingly a wave or two of them have gone out.

In an email from Amazon sent to Rob Dwiar, who requested an invite, it states:

“Hello,

You had recently requested to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 on amazon.co.uk.

Unfortunately, we were not able to accommodate your request.

Good news: Invitations are no longer required to buy the Switch 2 on amazon.co.uk and the console will be available to purchase without invitation soon.

If still interested in buying the console, we kindly ask you to visit amazon.co.uk and buy the Nintendo Switch 2 by putting it into your cart when available and proceed to checkout as usual.

Please note that it is possible that the console sells out quickly, so check our website regularly.

Thank you for choosing amazon.”

This means that he didn’t get the invite, but also that ‘Invitations are no longer’ a requirement and that Amazon in the UK plans to make it available to purchase – if stock is there – without an invite.

Similar to Very, it seems that John Lewis has kicked off preorders for the Switch 2 – including the console itself and the bundle with Mario Kart World. The team here at TechRadar in the United States did see the standard Switch 2 for £395.99 in stock at the retailer, but it seems that the preorder supply went fast.

The page now reads, “Pre-orders are now sold out. Available to buy from 5 June 2025.” It’s likely worth a refresh for a bit to see if it reappears, and you can sign up with your email to be notified if it returns.

While your luck may very well vary, Mackenzie Frazier, TechRadar’s expert Deals Editor in the US, successfully added the Nintendo Switch 2 to the basket at Very.

In fact, after being added, Very even suggested adding the Joy-Con 2 wheel accessory to her cart as well. Mileage will vary, but it’s worth a shot if you see it.

See you in a bit, Rob! Jacob Krol, TechRadar’s US Managing Editor News, stepping in as we continue breaking down the latest on Nintendo Switch 2 preorders in the UK. As Rob sorted through, we’re all prepping for the My Nintendo Store preorder window to open in the UK in a few hours and keeping tabs on other retailers.

For those in the United States, like myself, we’re in a holding pattern as Nintendo has delayed preorders of the Switch 2 for the foreseeable future, here.

Here’s some good news for all of us, though. Nintendo fans have been a bit surprised by the cost of the console and the range of games, including upgrades for titles to play on the Switch 2, which you’ve already purchased.

Speaking to IGN, though, Bill Trinen, Nintendo of America’s VP of product and player experience, breaks down the difference in the editions of the game and the possible cost:

“What I would probably counter to some of that is that really what you’re looking at is for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, that’s the physical price for somebody that has not bought the base game. For somebody who has bought Tears of the Kingdom or Breath of the Wild, the upgrade packs for those are $9.99.”

He continued to note if you have Switch Online, it’s a free upgrade but summed up Nintendo’s approach as setting the price based on the content and the value you’re getting.

That was a quick whistle-stop tour of the Switch 2 pre-order situation right now on both sides of the Atlantic, but I need to go and have some food and take a break for a while before returning to take our coverage into April 8 – My Nintendo store UK pre-order day!

Some of my illustrious colleagues will take over the coverage for now keeping you up to date on everything Switch 2 pre-order and price related, as well as all the best and most relevant recent Switch 2 news.

Catch you later!

UK retailers are live – but out of stock

So with the My Nintendo UK store only offering pre-orders for a select few, what’s the state of play for everyone else in the UK?

Online things don’t look that rosy with almost all retailers limiting action to registering interest or signing up for notifications at most. Amazon UK was inviting registrations for invitations but those buttons have disappeared from the listing pages. The likes of Argos and Very who went live with pre-order stock after the Switch 2 Direct haven’t seen restocks since, either.

You might have better luck in stores though. Currys is accepting pre-orders in-store, as far as we know, and Smyths Toys is actually taking pre-orders right now for in-store purchases at a handful of its stores so that’s definitely worth checking!

But it looks like you can’t register there now

Nintendo had stated that to be eligible to receive the invite to pre-order from its store would have to be active Switch Online subscribers with a certain amount of gameplay hours clocked up too, so there were some pretty specific hoops to jump through.

If you’ve forgotten to register, or wanted to see whether it was still possible to register now, mere hours before April 8, then I have bad news for you as it just doesn’t seem possible. I’ve tried multiple ways and on different devices and so on, but have had no luck in even finding the register for invite button or page.

For folks in a similar position, or who might not meet Nintendo’s criteria, then it’s the usual retailer that will prove the next best option.

My Nintendo store *should* be live on April 8

My Nintendo Store

Aside from the usual UK retailer suspects going live or running out of stock – I’ll get to them in a minute – the big news is that the My Nintendo UK store should be going live with its pre-orders tomorrow (April 8).

However, we don’t know the time they’ll go live, so that remains a mystery.

Another factor playing into that is the fact that these pre-orders will be by invitation only after fans have had the chance to register to potentially receive a chance to pre-order the console. So, if that’s you then we’d recommend keeping that inbox close by!

…and US shoppers are out of luck

In the US, fans would have been excitedly looking forward to Switch 2 pre-orders beginning at all retailers on April 9 but then came the news on Friday that Nintendo was delaying all US pre-orders amid the recent tariff uncertainty.

As a result, all US retailers have not gone live with stock at all, and have changed messaging to ‘coming soon’ or similar. The pages are all worth keeping an eye on but we don’t expect to see any US action anytime soon.

As a result, we’re all about the UK stock situation…

The current state of affairs

So, where do we sit now?

For those in the UK, as soon as the presentation last week finished Switch 2 pre-orders started appearing without warning. Some folks were able to take advantage and throughout the rest of that first day, there were flutterings of stock here and there.

As of right now, however, no retailer has any stock, however, but it is clear that UK Switch 2 pre-orders are officially, definitely, very much open and out in the wild. Now it’s a matter of hoping and looking and refreshing for stock at all the retailers, and trying to use a bit of nouse to predict when we might see more.

As for the US, however, things are, well, quite different…

Hello!

Hello and welcome to our live rolling coverage of the Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order situation!

The team and I will be doing our darndest to provide you with all the latest updates on stock in the UK – where pre-orders are open but inventory is hard to come by – as well as any news on the delayed US pre-orders.

Let’s get stuck in!
